Anyone who knows me personally knows that I love my mornings with “Live! with Regis & Kelly”. You also know that I get star-struck whenever I see news/weather personalities up close (so many incidences, so many stories… but that’s for another time). There’s a saying around here that’s fitting: You know you live in Vancouver when the weatherman is a celebrity.

Anyhoo, CTV Vancouver’s weathercaster, Tamara Taggart, won the gig to fill in for Kelly Ripa this August when she goes on holiday. Not only that, but last Wednesday, Michelle+1’s favourite CNN man, Anderson Cooper, announced her win when he guest-hosted on “Live!” for the day. Whooo! As silly as it sounds, I feel like a part of me will be sitting in the chair next to Regis. Go Tamara!

Hahaha. Oh the irony. Degrassi’s Jimmy Brooks in a wheelchair and now Drake injures his knee while prancing around on stage. Priceless. You can’t make this stuff up. That’s what you get Drake for doing a crappy video that does not fit the song. Ugh.

Eminem Sends Warning to Mariah Carey

It’s old news that Mariah Carey denies her relationship with rapper Eminem. Eminem on the other hand, clearly has been obsessing over the last few years that they were f’ing each other (listen to: Mariah Carey’s “Obsessed”). Who cares? I don’t want to know, nor do I care what you guys do in the bedroom. On July 31st, Eminem released a new track as a diss to Mariah Carey. The lyrics reveals their intimate relationship before Mariah married Nick Cannon.

Canucks re-sign Kyle Wellwood!

Canucks forward, Kyle Wellwood, sees money after filing NHL salary arbitration.

My boy, #42 himself, Kyle “Magic Mittens” Wellwood signed a new one-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks. The Vancouver Sun reports his new salary at a well-deserved $1.2 million.

Wellwood filed for NHL salary arbitration early July after only earning under $1 million for the 2008-2009 season with the Canucks. Last season, Wellwood scored 18 goals and snagged a total of 27 points.

Micheal Jackson who? “I’m the new King of Pop.”

While Micheal Jackson’s family and fans are still mourning his death, Kanye West allegedly tells Scrape TV he will be the new King of Pop. Wow Kanye. Classy and modest? Bravo. (Note the sarcasm.)

Kanye reveals why he is so deserving of the title:

“You know everyone loves and respects Michael but times change. It’s so sad to see Michael gone but it makes a path for a new King of Pop and I’m willing to take that on. There’s nobody who can match me in sales and in respect so it only makes sense for me to take over Michael’s crown and become the new King,” said West. “First there was Elvis, then there was Michael, now in the 21st century its Kanye’s time to rule. I have nothing but respect for Michael but someone needs to pick up where he left off and there’s nobody better than me to do that. I am the new King of Pop.”

Huh. Whether this is a for real or not — why do this? Sorry Kanye, you fail.

For the first time (and hopefully my last) in my so-far short reign as a blogger I have made an error in judgement. The above which you have just read is in fact false.  Kanye West told it straight on his blog:

Bryce Dallas Howard eclipses Rachelle Lefevre’s role

*BREAKING NEWS*

Bryce Dallas Howard (“Terminator Salvation”) replaces Montréal-born Rachelle Lefevre as the character ‘Victoria’ in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Summit Entertainment, the Twilight franchise’s production company, released a statement saying Lefevre “will not continue in the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made”. Isn’t that what they all say??? Bull!

I don’t get it Summit. I don’t get you David Slade.

I was so looking forward to ‘meeting’ Rachelle when Eclipse begins filming in Vancouver this August. She perfectly portrayed Victoria in Twilight so I won’t be surprised if she leaves her fans extremely disappointed. TwiFans has already suggested to start a petition to get the word out to Summit.

Sure, change is good… but not when you’ve got a good thing going for you…. I’m looking at you Summit Entertainment!

What do you guys think? Will Bryce fail to measure up to what Rachelle had slated out already? Or will she successfully add a new dimension to the character Victoria we’ve all grown to love?

SUMMIT vs. RACHELLE

Rachelle feeling “shocked” upon receiving notice she was being replaced by Bryce in Eclipse, issued a statement to Access Hollywood saying that she “turned down several filming opportunities” as she was “fully committed” to playing Victoria.

Summit Entertainment lashes back at Rachelle in a statement with Access Hollywood denying any fault in the recast of the part of Victoria since they only learned about Rachelle’s ‘conflicting’ schedule recently.

Excuses, excuses!

Who do you believe? Summit or Rachelle? Personally, I’m on Team Rachelle.
