Summer-like temperatures in Vancouver call for sexy beaching

Despite the arrival of the Fall season, Vancouverites are still flocking to the beaches with above average summer-like temperatures in the forecast.

It’s no wonder that ForbesTraveler.com has ranked Vancouver’s Kitsilano Beach as one of the sexiest beaches in North America. Kits Beach was the only Canadian beach to be given the honour and was only beaten out by South Beach (Miami) and Main Beach (East Hampton, N.Y).

1. South Beach, Miami

2. Main Beach, East Hampton, N.Y.

3. Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver

4. Oak Street Beach, Chicago

5. Laguna Beach, Orange County, Calif.

6. La Jolla Cove, San Diego

7. Ka’anapali Beach, Maui

8. Banzai Pipeline, Ehukai Beach, Hawaii

9. Tulum, Yucatan, Mexico

10. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

– Top 10 Sexiest North American beaches as ranked by ForbesTraveler.com

Growing up only a mere few blocks from the beach, I can definitely agree with their ranking. Kits Beach is the place to be and is the perfect place for tanning, playing volleyball, frisbee, walking your dog, BBQ’ing, people watching, swimming in the ocean and the 137m pool (the longest pool in Canada), or just hanging out with family and friends. Even in the Fall and Winter seasons, there are still plenty of people that hang out at the beach or go for a walk.

It’s also a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the downtown core (only a few minutes away). You’ve got the mountains, city skyline, Stanley Park, and the ocean in full view with only a stone’s throw away.

Lookin’ sexy, Kits Beach… Let’s see how long we can keep this gorgeous weather for.
